Dr. Ambreen Mohamed is a Southern California-born, Pakistani-American cardiologist with a singular mission: to make expert heart and wellness care accessible, especially for communities too often overlooked.
Rooted in both compassion and clinical precision, Dr. Mohamed brings a unique lens to Preventative Cardiology and Mental Wellness Coaching, with a focus on individuals of South Asian descent. She knows firsthand how cultural nuance, stress, and lifestyle patterns can deeply impact heart health. Her work bridges that gap with empathy and excellence.
A board-certified non-invasive cardiologist, Dr. Mohamed serves as Head of Medical Education at Heartbeat Health. Her training spans some of the nation’s leading institutions: a degree in Biological Sciences from UC Irvine, an MD from Ross University School of Medicine, and both residency (University of Connecticut) and fellowship training (Drexel University) in Internal Medicine and Cardiology, where she also served as Chief Fellow.
Dr. Mohamed went on to complete advanced subspecialty fellowships in Cardiac MRI at New York Presbyterian - Brooklyn Hospital and Structural Cardiac Imaging at the Scripps Clinic in San Diego, CA. She holds board certifications in Cardiology, Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology, and Internal Medicine, and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
A recognized voice in national cardiology leadership, Dr. Mohamed is an active member of the Women in Cardiology section of the American College of Cardiology and was part of the inaugural leadership cohort of its California chapter. Outside of clinical practice, she’s a public speaker and vocal advocate for physician mental wellness and co-hosted the “Heart 2 Heart” podcast to share knowledge and elevate patient stories.
With a heart rooted in service, Dr. Mohamed also funds educational scholarships for underprivileged girls in Pakistan, honoring the belief that care begins by uplifting others.
Dr. Ambreen Mohamed believes that exceptional care begins with empathy, and is strengthened by cultural understanding. As a South Asian, Pakistani-American physician, her approach to Preventative Cardiology is shaped by lived experience and a deep commitment to addressing the alarmingly high rates of heart disease in South Asian communities, where individuals are up to four times more likely to develop cardiovascular conditions at earlier ages than the general population. She is dedicated to bridging this health disparity through culturally tailored, preventative care
Her care model integrates Heart Health, Mental Wellness Coaching, and long-term prevention strategies tailored for individuals of Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, and other subcontinental backgrounds. Dr. Mohamed understands that genetics, lifestyle, and unspoken cultural stressors uniquely influence South Asian heart health, and she designs care plans that acknowledge and address those intersections.
At the heart of her practice is trust. Dr. Ambreen Mohamed works closely with each patient to foster clarity, connection, and meaningful change, because she knows that when patients feel seen and understood, they’re more empowered to live fuller lives.
Dr. Ambreen Mohamed brings extensive training, board certifications, and national leadership experience to her work in Preventative Cardiology, Heart Health, and South Asian-centered care.
